Yesterday's Leonard Pitts column combined with this blog entry from Beliefnet kicked me in the spiritual pants. I don't know that I laughed at Britney's plight. I felt sorry for her, but I know I didn't think to pray for her.
What do y'all think?

Wow, that's pretty deep. I lean more toward's Leonard Pitts' perspective than the blogger Nicole Symmonds on Beliefnet. BUT Symmonds really made me think. I've never even considered praying for celebrities and even though her blog entry was compelling enough to make me consider it, I probably won't start.
But I might try the idea of praying for them collectively, as in adding a clause in there, right after family, friends, strangers and the world to say "And please bless all the troubled celebrities out there..." I don't know though. Even that just feels cheesy and unnatural to me.
There is no doubt we should pray for her.
I don't know that we have to set aside special time to pray for celebrities (although it certainly couldn't hurt). Maybe it's just a matter of changing our reaction when we hear some crazy story. Instead of laughing or making fun, it might help if we lifted them up in our thoughts instead.
